Free agent OT Derek Newton worked out for the Jets on Tuesday.

Newton is a player everyone should be pulling for as he tries to become the first NFL player to return to action after tearing both patellar tendons on the same play. One source said Newton "looked good" at his tryout on Tuesday, but the two parties haven't signed a deal. If Newton is able to come back -- he might have a better shot at a return playing guard if he's less mobile -- in any capacity, it will be one of the biggest comeback stories of the season.

Washington Post's Mark Maske said one NFL source guesses the Seahawks will eventually be sold.

There hasn't been an announced inheritor of the Seahawks since Mr. Paul Allen wasn't married and didn't have any children. Some speculate that Allen's sister, Jody, could be the inheritor of the team, but it's unclear if she would have aspire to own and operate the team even if she were the inheritor. Regardless of the outcome, nothing is expected to act quickly.

Free agent LB Navorro Bowman worked out for the Browns, but they did not reach a deal.

It's been a quiet offseason for Bowman despite Pro Football Focus grading him highly against the run in 2017. The Browns scheduled the workout with Bowman after announcing that LB Joe Schobert "down for a little while."

Eagles DT Haloti Ngata (calf) is "likely to return" for Week 7 against the Panthers.

Ngata hasn't played since Week 4, but the Eagles seem comfortable that he will play on Sunday with just three active defensive tackles on the 53-man roster at the moment. Fletcher Cox and Treyvon Hester are the other two active interior defensive lineman.

Free agent CB Quinten Rollins worked out for the Eagles on Tuesday.

Rollins must be healthy again after suffering a hamstring injury in the Packers' preseason finale. The former second-rounder has tried out for the Bears, Jets, and Eagles in recent weeks. Rollins missed the end of last year with a torn Achilles.

Free agent WRs Corey Coleman and Rishard Matthews worked out for the Jets on Tuesday.

Coleman was cut twice by the Patriots in September and he's not a bet to make a 53-man roster anytime soon. Matthews is the better receiver of the two and would make sense from the Jets perspective given Quincy Enunwa's injury. The Jets also worked out RT Derek Newton (both knees) and RB Donnel Pumphrey.
