Major League Baseball has fined Manny Machado an undisclosed amount for the way he ran into Jesus Aguilar in Game 4 of the NLCS on Tuesday.

Machado appeared to intentionally drag his left foot across Aguilar's right leg at first base following a routine groundout in the bottom of the 10th inning, and the resulting argument set off a short-lived benches-clearing dustup. A number of Brewers expressed anger about the play after the game, and there could very well be some kind of carryover into Game 5 of the NLCS on Wednesday. Machado will not be suspended by MLB for the act.

Cody Bellinger is batting leadoff for the Dodgers in NLCS Game 5 on Wednesday versus the Brewers.

Bellinger came off the bench in Game 4 and singled off Josh Hader in the bottom of the eighth inning before walking it off in the bottom of the 13th. He also made a tremendous diving catch in the outfield in the top of the 10th. Here is the full NLCS Game 5 lineup for Los Angeles: Cody Bellinger CF, Justin Turner 3B, David Freese 1B, Manny Machado SS, Max Muncy 2B, Chris Taylor LF, Enrique Hernandez RF, Austin Barnes C, Clayton Kershaw SP.

Hernan Perez will start at second base and bat fifth for the Brewers in NLCS Game 5 on Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Travis Shaw is on the bench as the Brew Crew go righty-heavy versus Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw. Jonathan Schoop and Manny Pina are also sitting. Here is the full Game 5 starting lineup for Milwaukee: Lorenzo Cain CF, Christian Yelich RF, Ryan Braun LF, Jesus Aguilar 1B, Hernan Perez 2B, Mike Moustakas 3B, Erik Kratz C, Orlando Arcia SS, Wade Miley SP.

Didi Gregorius underwent Tommy John surgery Wednesday on his right elbow.

The Yankees announced last week that Gregorius would require the reconstructive elbow procedure, so this isn't breaking news. The hope is the 28-year-old shortstop will be able to return around the middle of the 2019 season, probably just before the All-Star break. He put up a career-high .829 OPS and 27 home runs in 134 games this summer with New York, also adding 86 RBI, 10 stolen bases, and 89 runs scored.

Mike Soroka (shoulder) faced live hitters twice during the Braves' fall instructional league.

That should put him on the path to a normal offseason. Soroka was shut down in late June due to lingering inflammation in his right shoulder, but he is expected to be 100 percent leading into spring training next February and the talented 21-year-old will likely have a shot at cracking Atlanta's Opening Day rotation if his health cooperates. Soroka registered a 3.51 ERA and 21/7 K/BB ratio over his first 25 2/3 major league innings (five starts) in 2018.

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Brad Ausmus, David Bell, and Joe Girardi remain in the mix for the Reds' managerial gig.

Those could be the three finalists in Cincinnati, as Rosenthal notes that the Reds "might be prompted to act sooner than later" due to the many other openings around the sport and the competition for similar candidates. Ausmus is also known to be in consideration for the Angels' job, and Bell and Girardi have both drawn reported interest from multiple organizations.
