Moe Harkless (knee) is expected to limited to 20 minutes against the Lakers on Thursday.

He said he is probable, but keep in mind he was ruled out despite two probable tags in the preseason. Harkless' recovery from knee surgery has taken much longer than anticipated, so he can't be trust in fantasy leagues. If he does get on the court, he has upside, though. We'll see if Jake Layman can build off his solid preseason.

The Suns officially signed Jamal Crawford on Wednesday.

He is still not expected to play tonight in the home debut against the Mavs. Crawford signing with the Suns is a little strange given the direction the team should be going, especially after they have two second-round picks in Elie Okobo and De'Anthony Melton. Crawford may steal some minutes from them early, but he's not likely to see enough volume to matter in most leagues.

Caris LeVert is hopeful to get through all 82 games in his third NBA season.

"I want to play in as many games as possible," LeVert said at Tuesday’s practice. "I feel like there’s kind of a stigma around me that I’m always hurt, and I want to break that and play in as many games as I can. I think last year I played in like 71, 72. So I want to play more than that this year, hopefully, all of them if that’s possible." LeVert looked great throughout the preseason and there's a ton of opportunity in front of him, particularly with DeMarre Carroll (ankle) out indefinitely. He's one of our favorite breakout candidates.

Tom Thibodeau said that Jimmy Butler will probably play in "shorter segments" during Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Spurs.

Butler skipped the entire preseason and has only gotten in a handful of practices, so his conditioning probably isn't quite where it needs to be. This news somewhat lessens Butler's appeal in DFS formats, but owners shouldn't hesitate to get him active in season-long settings.

Jamal Crawford will not take the court for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Mavericks.

Crawford still hasn't officially signed with the team, nor has Davon Reed been officially waived, so Crawford won't be able to play until those things happen. He may be able to carve out some low-end value in deep leagues once he's fully up to speed, but we don't imagine he'll be worth owning in most 12-team leagues with 13 roster spots.
Oct 17 - 2:33 PM

Wilson Chandler (hamstring) will not play Thursday vs. the Bulls.

Just last Thursday head coach Brett Brown was quoted as saying that Chandler is still "a ways away" from getting back to the court, so until we see him ramping up his activity level at practices, we'll have to consider him out indefinitely. Jerryd Bayless (knee) and Zhaire Smith (foot) will join him on the sidelines for Thursday night's game, as expected.
Oct 17 - 2:30 PM

Mike Muscala (right ankle) is doubtful to suit up for Thursday's game against the Bulls.

Muscala missed Tuesday's season opener, and it looks like he'll be spending at least one more game on the sidelines. With him out, T.J. McConnell and Amir Johnson should see some more minutes with the second unit.
Oct 17 - 2:28 PM

The Nuggets have signed Mike Malone to an extension.

Malone turned the Nuggets around from a 30-win club to a team that won 46 games last season and just barely missed the postseason, so he definitely deserves the job security. He's also done a phenomenal job developing Nikola Jokic, who could realistically establish himself as a top-6 performer in fantasy hoops this season.
