According to Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald, the Red Sox plan to bring Blake Swihart to spring training as a catcher once again.

While they expect to have him take reps at other positions during the spring, their goal in keeping him behind the plate is to maximize his potential trade value. Team president Dave Dombrowski admitted that it's unlikely that the team heads into the regular season with three catchers, so it's looking like Swihart will be on the move prior to the start of the regular season. A move out of Boston would do wonders for his fantasy value, as Swihart saw just 207 plate appearances during the 2018 campaign.

Bradford noted that "everybody and their mother" is in on Eovaldi, who helped his stock tremendously with his strong showing in the postseason. The Brewers, Phillies, Braves, Angels, Red Sox, White Sox, Blue Jays, Padres and Giants are other teams that are also believed to have interest in Eovaldi's services.

According to Ian Browne of MLB.com, the Red Sox are unlikely to resign free agent closer Craig Kimbrel.

The veteran right-hander hit the open market when he rejected his one-year, $17.9 million qualifying offer earlier this week. While the Red Sox would love to retain him and get the band back together for another run at a title, Browne believes that Kimbrel is expected to command much more than the Red Sox will be willing to pay for a closer, especially with raises on tap for Mookie Betts and Jackie Bradley Jr. through arbitration.

Initial X-rays on Braves outfield prospect Braxton Davidson's left foot showed a mid-foot sprain.

Davidson injured the foot Saturday's Arizona Fall League championship game when he hit a walk-off home run. It looks like he avoided any broken bones, although he's slated to undergo an MRI on Monday just to be sure.
