Coach Mike McCarthy said Geronimo Allison (hamstring) and Randall Cobb (hamstring) will again work off to the side with the rehab group at Friday's practice.

That would suggest they'll be limited at best on the practice report. While it's encouraging both are working on the field, it doesn't sound all that promising for their Monday night status against the 49ers. The good news is they have an extra day this week. We'll know more about both Saturday.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the length of free agent Kareem Hunt's suspension will be determined before the start of free agency.

In addition to the widely-circulated video of Hunt shoving and kicking a woman outside his Cleveland hotel room last February, the league is also investigating two other incidents, one involving a physical altercation at a club and another at a resort. The former Chief has yet to speak to NFL investigators, though his fate should be decided sometime before the start of free agency in March. Despite his off-field troubles, "several teams have been keeping tabs" on Hunt, who led the NFL with 1,327 rushing yards as a rookie in 2017 and was having an even better year prior to his release in 2018. Hunt has already been linked to the Bears, who are coached by former Chiefs OC Matt Nagy. Rapoport fully expects the 23-year-old to play in the NFL next season.

AZCentral.com's Bob McManaman reports the Cardinals have hired ex-Packers OC Tom Clements as the team's primary offensive assistant.

Clements will essentially fill Arizona's vacant OC position and serve as coach Kliff Kingsbury's primary offensive assistant and passing-game coordinator. Kingsbury will call his own plays, but Clements is expected to assist heavily in game-plans. Clements spent 11 years under Mike McCarthy and Green Bay's staff, notably winning a Super Bowl with the team back in 2011. Although he's been out of football the past two seasons, the Cardinals are hoping Clements' veteran status and assistance in developing Aaron Rodgers can help in developing Josh Rosen.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Ravens and coach John Harbaugh have agreed in principle to a contract extension.

Harbaugh has one year remaining on his current deal, but the Ravens will still assuredly lock him up for the foreseeable future after he became a hot commodity following the team's Wild Card loss to the Chargers. Harbaugh has been at the helm for Baltimore since initially replacing Brian Billick in 2008. This pending extension ensures Harbaugh stays head coach despite the plethora of changes in and out of the front office around him over the past 12 months.

Cameron Brate had arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip.

He's expected to miss a "few months." Brate played through the injury for most of the year but didn't sit any games. The Bucs are hoping to have Brate for the start of June's minicamp.

Chargers GM Tom Telesco suggested he'd be open to bringing back impending free agent Antonio Gates in 2019.

The Chargers planned to move on from Gates last season but wound up re-signing him after Hunter Henry tore his ACL at OTAs. "My heart says, yeah, he’ll be back next year," said Telesco. "But you put your G.M. hat on, and you look at what’s the role, where are resources are with the cap." Even if the Bolts re-up with Gates, the 38-year-old would just be Henry's backup.

Spencer Ware (hamstring) wasn't listed on the Chiefs' final injury report for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Patriots.

Neither were S Eric Berry (heel) or OG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (ankle). Ware will return from a four-game absence after putting in a full week of practice. Even with Ware available for the conference championship, Damien Williams should lead the Chiefs' backfield against New England.

Ben Watson (illness) is out for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Rams.

He's been in the hospital with appendicitis, though so far he's avoided surgery. It's a tough break for Watson, who plans to retire after the season. Josh Hill will pick up the slack in his absence. The 38-year-old should be available for Super Bowl LIII if the Saints advance.

Cowboys fired OC Scott Linehan.

This ends his five-year run in Dallas. The Cowboys were initially expected to retain Linehan, but obviously they had a change of heart. "This was not an easy decision because of how highly we regard Scott Linehan as a football coach and as a person," said coach Jason Garrett in a statement Friday. "He is an outstanding football coach, a great friend and we wish him and his family nothing but the absolute best moving forward." Garrett said the decision to part ways was mutual, but in reality, the Cowboys have been looking at outside OC candidates for the past several days. Outside of the always reliable Ezekiel Elliott and a late-season surge from Amari Cooper, the Cowboys' offense was nothing special this year. Ultimately, Dak Prescott should benefit from a more creative play-caller.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Eric Berry (heel) will play in the AFC Championship against the Patriots.

This was expected with Berry returning to full practice this week. Berry isn't 100 percent after sitting out the Divisional Round, but he's going to try to play his normal snaps for the AFC title game.

Cowboys DT Antwaun Woods is recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum.

Woods suffered the injury in the Cowboys' Divisional Round loss to the Rams, apparently playing through the ailment for much of the contest. It's a fairly serious operation, one that can come with a lengthy rehab timeline. Woods should be considered questionable for the start of training camp. A third-year UDFA in 2018, Woods made the first 15 starts of his NFL career, earning neutral marks from Pro Football Focus.

Spencer Ware (hamstring) was upgraded to "full" in Thursday's practice.

Despite weeks of limited practices, Ware has not played since Week 14. This finally puts him on track to return, but it should be as little more than a changeup to Damien Williams, who has been excellent in lead duties. If Ware finally does suit up, he will be a low upside DFS option for the Conference Championship round.
