NBA | Draymond Green (knee) expected to play Friday - Rotoworld.com

Latest Headlines

Draymond Green (sore left knee) is expected to play in the Warriors preseason finale on Friday.

With this, Green is on track to play in the Warriors regular season opener on Tuesday. Coach Steve Kerr said that Green went through a short practice on Thursday and will be on a minutes limit upon his return. He might get off to a slow start, but he's still worth drafting in the early rounds.
Oct 11 - 8:17 PM

Justise Winslow (hamstring) and Wayne Ellington (ankle) will not play against the Magic on Wednesday.

Oct 17 - 5:37 PM

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (groin) is out against the Pistons on Wednesday.

Ouch. Hollis-Jefferson has dealt with this injury since his August and it's very discouraging he's not ready to play yet. His owners may want to exercise patience or even consider dropping him in shallower formats. For tonight, this should ensure Treveon Graham and Jared Dudley will be in the rotation and we may even get a little more Rodion Kurucs than we bargained for. Oh, and it's also #LeVertSZN for Caris LeVert as he's set for huge minutes.
Oct 17 - 5:29 PM

Reggie Bullock (illness) is questionable against the Nets on Wednesday.

He'll be a game-time call for this one in front of the home folks. With Stanley Johnson (toe) already out, the Pistons wing depth is now down to Luke Kennard, Glenn Robinson III and Langston Galloway. The Pistons have shown interest in allowing Kennard to handle the rock more, so he may be the more attractive option to stream or as a DFS punt. GR3 is also someone to consider despite his usually-low usage rate.
Oct 17 - 5:25 PM

Stanley Johnson (toe) is out for the opener vs. the Nets on Wednesday.

This makes it at least nine days Johnson has dealt with a toe injury. With him out and now Reggie Bullock (illness) questionable, the Pistons will have to turn to Luke Kennard and Glenn Robinson III to help their depth. Johnson had a brutal preseason, so leave him on waivers basically everywhere.
Oct 17 - 5:22 PM

D.J. Augustin, Evan Fournier, Jonathan Isaac, Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic will start against the Heat on Wednesday.

The team has dropped clues for months that Isaac would get the nod at forward, and here we are on opening night. He's expected to be more of a three on offense and a four on defense, so he adds some extra offensive upside to go with what should be a ton of blocks and steals. He's one of the highest upside players out there and should be starting in all formats.
Oct 17 - 5:18 PM

Elfrid Payton, Jrue Holiday, E'Twaun Moore, Nikola Mirotic and Anthony Davis will start against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Considering the overwhelming success this lineup had last year, there was little doubt coach Alvin Gentry would get away from it in a tough matchup this evening. Mirotic is not likely going to play the three tonight, but Julius Randle should slide over to the five enough to give both Niko and Randle a shot at 28-30 minutes. Both are DFS options and strong starts in what should be one of the highest-scoring games of the night.
Oct 17 - 4:57 PM

Tom Thibodeau said that Jimmy Butler will probably play in "shorter segments" during Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Spurs.

Butler skipped the entire preseason and has only gotten in a handful of practices, so his conditioning probably isn't quite where it needs to be. This news somewhat lessens Butler's appeal in DFS formats, but owners shouldn't hesitate to get him active in season-long settings.
Oct 17 - 2:36 PM

Jamal Crawford will not take the court for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Mavericks.

Crawford still hasn't officially signed with the team, nor has Davon Reed been officially waived, so Crawford won't be able to play until those things happen. He may be able to carve out some low-end value in deep leagues once he's fully up to speed, but we don't imagine he'll be worth owning in most 12-team leagues with 13 roster spots.
Oct 17 - 2:33 PM

Dwight Howard (back) was again a full participant at Wednesday's practice.

That's now three days in a row that D12 has got in a full practice, but Scott Brooks still won't commit to him being available for Thursday's regular-season opener against the Heat. Apparently, Howard is still trying to regain his vertical leap, which was affected by the injury, and the Wizards have made it clear they won't rush his recovery. Check back for another update following Thursday morning's shootaround.
Oct 17 - 2:13 PM

Nikola Mirotic is expected to be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockets.

The starting four-spot in New Orleans could be fluid this season, with Mirotic of Julius Randle getting the call based on the matchup, but it sounds like it'll be Mirotic getting the starting nod tonight and he'll be joined by Elfrid Payton, Jrue Holiday, E'Twaun Moore and Anthony Davis.

Wendell Carter Jr. will be in the starting lineup for Thursday's season opener against the 76ers.

Well, that didn't take long. Carter Jr. opening the year as the starting center in Chicago is an excellent sign regarding his rest-of-season outlook, and we'll be watching closely to see how he splits the five-man minutes with Robin Lopez. Carter Jr. was a beast at Summer League, but had a bit of a muted preseason, so it'll be interesting to see how he fares against Joel Embiid in his regular-season debut.
